School Events Updates

Friday, August 10, 2018 - 12:30 to Sunday, September 30, 2018 - 12:30

Dear ASB Sukhumvit Campus Parents,

We thank you for attending the National Mother’s Day celebrations, on August 10th. We hope you had an enjoyable time.

The school also takes this opportunity to inform you of upcoming school holidays, changes in upcoming school events, and new meeting dates. Monday, August 13th is a holiday for families in observance of Her Majesty the Queen of Thailand’s birthday (and also National Mother’s Day in Thailand). Tuesday, August 14th is an additional holiday for our students. Our teachers will be attending a combined campus Professional Development at ASB Green Valley Campus with Ms. Virginia Rojas, who conducts professional learning on effective programs and strategies for pre K–Grade 12 ELL and classroom teachers alike. The American School of Bangkok is hosting this professional development to help teachers obtain experiences and strategies to design high-rigor, high-support learning experiences to simultaneously strengthen English language proficiency and academic achievement for all students.

The Open House event on Friday, August 17th has been postponed to Thursday, October 18th. We will be offering an opportunity for parents to attend classrooms to observe teachers and students in action, and to experience a typical ASB school day. Please stay tuned to more information.

The following PTO coffee meetings have now been scheduled:

  • Elementary Parents’ Coffee Meeting (for Grades 1 - 5 parents) - on Wednesday, August 29th, 2018
Topic of Discussion: ‘Standards-Based Assessment Report Card’

Topic of Discussion: ‘Preparations for upcoming Combined Campus Middle and High School Team-building Field Trips
Venue and Time: School Auditorium (from 9:00 - 9:45 a.m.)

We highly recommend you to attend the above meetings to receive important information about the assessment and reporting system (in the elementary level), and also find out about the preparations for the upcoming field trips (in the middle and high school levels).

We look forward to seeing you.  Thank you!

Sincerely,
