School Philosophy |

The philosophy of The American School of Bangkok centers around promoting excellence in children and youth in the following interpretations:

Laying the foundations of societal relationships among students, embodying the love and affection for teachers, friends, family and for other human beings;

Emphasizing scholastic achievements among students in the arts and sciences and the general and applied knowledge on an uninterrupted and continuous basis;

Contributing toward the creative and athletic achievements of the students in such a way that the mind vibrates and the body moves; and
-
Preparing for the future good citizenship and fraternity amongst students and the outside world.
Guided by the school's philosophy, the school shall exert every effort to:

Provide for each student a comprehensive education in an atmosphere that is supportive of the individual's identify, his/her talents and creativity.

Develop in each student the mastery of skill in written and oral communications, in attaining knowledge and understanding of the language arts, mathematics, sciences, social studies and the evolution of world cultures.

Develop in each student the ability to appreciate and to perform in the arts.

Develop in each student the ability to command at least one foreign language.

Provide for the facilities that will enhance the acquisition of habits in physical education of good sportsmanship, cooperation, health and physical fitness for life.

Provide for a distinctive ambience which facilities cultural exchange and the promotion of cultural ethical values, the respect for the individual, and the cultivation of the attitudes that embrace generosity and cooperation, the seriousness with which study is approached, and the awareness of moral and society obligations of which an individual is a part.
