"The school is a place where students from all over the world spend their lives together under the same roof like a big family. The school seeks to provide a second home to our students."
Welcome to The American School of Bangkok
International schools are a “phenomenon” in Thailand. Since the liberalization of the Thai educational system in 1992, and consistent with the successive Thai governments’ policy to make Thailand a regional hub for international education in this region, the international schools in Thailand have mushroomed from three to almost 100, vying for a student population of about 25,000.
The American School of Bangkok, commonly known as ASB, was founded in June 1983 by a family of distinguished educators with over 80 years of dedication and vast knowledge in education. The school is now 25 years old with numerous accomplishments. Our alumni are successful professionals in this globalize world.
ASB is a comprehensive day and boarding school based on an American curriculum with the focus on an international perspective. The school offers superb state-of-the-art learning facilities, maintains high academic standards and quality of teaching, constantly acquires the best educational resources and incorporates the latest technology in learning.
ASB follows a highly selective admission policy. Our distinguished scholars come from diverse nationalities. Our students take pride in learning. They are confident, expressive, creative, independent learners, visionary and effectual leaders and weave their way to success.
ASB’s education program is committed to bring the best out of our students and is geared for self-discovery. We are an international school with the emphasis on innovation. We encourage our students to do their own experiments and come up with new findings which might open up new doors for the advancement of science and technology. ASB teach our students to broaden their horizons beyond what’s contained in the textbooks or in the teachers’ lectures. We let our students engage in and solve problems that connect them beyond the classroom. We encourage our students to participate in the endless variety of carefully planned, after-school activities. We teach our students to be creative in their own way, individually as well as collectively, thus enhancing and building the leadership potential within each and every one of them.
The American School of Bangkok is pleased to play an important part in laying a solid foundation for a child’s success. ASB graduates are almost always guaranteed an automatic admission to reputed overseas institutions or Thai colleges and universities with an international program, many with full scholarships.
We are proud of the fact that we have, and are continually creating successful, kind and caring young professionals with strong values who are able to contribute to a better world of tomorrow.
ASB is simply the best place to be!
