The American School of Bangkok has four Expected School-wide Learning Results (ESLRs) that go above and beyond purely an academic program. Our journey into building leadership starts by developing our students into:
 Effective Communicators – ASB students effectively communicate with others, by actively listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Students are encouraged to express themselves and learn from one another.
 World Class Citizens – ASB students take what they learn beyond the classroom. They are empathetic to world issues, whether happening in their own neighborhood or on the other side of the world. By becoming involved with charitable organizations within Thailand, as well as internationally, ASB students are actively learning and caring about many issues in the world.
 Independent Learners – ASB students are trained to learn and think for themselves. From nursery through high school, ASB students are given a wealth of opportunities for learning, and more importantly they are taught how to use their own individual skills and strengths to reach their maximum potential.
 Critical Thinkers – ASB students are taught to question what they learn. It is not enough to merely gain knowledge. Students must also take that knowledge and use it as well as improve upon it. All students at ASB are trained to constantly think about what they are leaning and to interpret this knowledge through their own experiences.
