Sukhumvit Fair 2010 Net Proceeds Presentation |
|
On Tuesday, March 30th 2010, a group of ASB Administrators, staff and students went to the Prostheses Foundation of HRH the Princess Mother of Thailand and the Green World Foundation, to forward the funds raised from Sukhumvit Fair 2010 to organizations. The day started with a visit to the Prostheses Foundation, a non-profit organization with the main aim to provide free artificial legs for amputees, regardless of nationality or religion. ASB community members were welcomed by Dr. Chalermbongse Komarakul, the honorable committee member of the Foundation. Dr. Chalermbongse expressed his appreciation to the school for the kind gesture. He also provided an update of the activities of the Foundation. The American School of Bangkok donated 100,000 Baht to this Foundation. The ASB Grade 5 students from Bangna Campus also presented additional funds raised by their classroom to this organization.

In the same afternoon, the same group of ASB community members proceeded to the Green World Foundation, another non-profit organization that collaborates closely with youth, educators, and community leaders throughout Thailand to inspire the development and adoption of environmental ethics, and strengthen the capacity for proactively contributing to the sustainable care of the local environment. The American School of Bangkok donated 55,486 Baht to this organization.
The American School of Bangkok expresses heartfelt appreciation to all ASB community members and sponsors, once again, for the support, participation, and contribution towards the Sukhumvit Fair. The involvement in all forms has made a great difference to the entire event, and will go a long way in helping the school promote the importance of cultural diversity and cohesiveness in international communities, and in teaching our students to reach out to charitable causes with a genuine heart. | |
