 The American School of Bangkok provides supplementary English Language Learning (ELL) support for students who do not speak adequate English as their first language. The basic aim of the ASB ESL program is to assist students requiring English language support to access the school curriculum and help them to progress to the level of attainment at which they can confidently and successfully operate at their ability level, and rapidly move into the mainstream academic program.
ELL support is provided in the classes as well as in special classes organized by the ASB ELL department. ELL students attend these sessions to enhance their language skills and to keep up with the mainstream academic workload.
The Power of the Fast ForWord®Literacy Program
The Fast ForWord® program is available to all English language learners at The American School of Bangkok. Fast ForWord® is a highly effective literacy program that stimulates and develops the parts of the brain that are used for learning, especially in language. Fast ForWord® is seen by many as an exercise workout for the brain. The program is the result of 30 years research in neuroscience and learning development. All students can truly benefit from the program. Research studies have shown Fast ForWord® not only helps students excel with language learning, but also in other areas of study such as math, social studies and science.
